The battery in the camera seems to hold a charge from the USB port. If you have access to a laptop or a AC adapter to USB outlet so you can recharge direct from an AC outlet, I think you'll be fine. I'm new to using this camera, but depending on how much video you shoot versus pictures you take, I think the manual gives you an approximate number of hours you'll likely be able to use the camera with a single full charge of the battery.
