Yes, the Sony NP-FV70 battery pack is compatible with the Sony HDR-XR260V Camcorder and provides higher recording time than the supplied NP-FV50 battery pack. The Sony Camcorder is also compatible with the Sony NP-FV100 battery pack which provides highest recording time.
