When not playing a PSVR2 game, you will be in a cinematic mode which appears as a flat screen in front of you. It's like having a big flat screen tv at a comfortable distance in front of you. However, if a game was not made for PSVR2, you would be using the PS5 controller. You would not be using the PSVR2 controllers, and the PSVR2 controllers do not work for non-PSVR2 games.
