I have moderate to severe high frequency hearing loss and they're sufficiently capable. Invisible hearing aids will always struggle when compared to BTE or RIC models, mostly due to invisible CIC models only having room for one microphone. Whereas the larger "traditional" BTE/RIC models typically have 2 microphones per hearing aid. However manufacturers are starting to close the gap between invisible and the larger external styles, as Sony is proving with the CRE-C10 OTC hearing aids now. I've included screenshot of the user manual which says the CRE-C10s are intended for mild to moderate hearing loss. I think this mild to moderate rating is the only way the FDA will approve hearing aids in the OTC category. Again I have moderate to severe loss and these Sony's have no issues keeping up.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I believe they would be. I have hearing loss about the same level as you it sounds like. I find them to be very effective. I think if you get in the habit of putting them in every day. You will be surprised at how much you have been missing.
