Does this play regular DVDs null

Daddio, Yes it does play DVDs. In the product description it states that it plays just about all disc formats. However, I tried to play two different DVD movies and they both played. One was an old movie and that one did take about two minutes for the main menu to become active so I could select Play Movie. The newer movie played almost immediately. I’ve played DVDs, Blu-Rays, and 4K Blu-Rays and they all look fantastic. So far this player is great! Good luck.

Yes it does. It will play all dvds from regular to bluray to 4k. I bought mine about a month ago and it’s been great.
