• as long as your tv is hooked up to the sound system it will work other wise the answer is no.

• Depends on what inputs your receiver needs. This only has HDMI out, and a digital coax output. You can purchase units that will convert either the HDMI or the Digital Coax out to other outputs like SPDIF, or analog outputs like RCA or even 3.5mm, but, those converters are not included with the unit.
