“I have a pioneer HTP-072 receiver. tried hooking up to new Turntable (PS-LX300USB) but no sound. I have a CD player connected to receiver on rear with RCA cable. Is this were turntable should be connected and how can i have both?”

You should have the turntable RCA leads plugged in either to phono sockets or Aux sockets on the reciever, make sure the switch on the back of the turntable is set to phono if using phono sockets or line if using aux sockets. Where have you got the turntable plugged into then? If you don't have phono sockets and only 1 set of aux sockets, then you'll have to plug in the CD or turntable separately as required for use...
