So based on my experience with the Sony over the head being perfect for local environments I'm going to say the Sony earbuds will be perfect on a treadmill. Just take care with phone calls make sure your people are telling you you sound clear otherwise take a look at the Bose. I HAD THE SONY 10003 WF AND TOOK THEM BACK AFTER I HAD TOO MANY COMPLAINTS WITH PHONE CALLS. This is why I'm especially pleased to say the 10004 over- the- ears are excellent for phone calls! And I trust Sony earbuds will likely be superior in normal environments including in the gym and walking down the street. But if you're looking for noise protection on an airplane don't look at anyone's earbuds.
