Hi Mary, Thank you for your interest in the XB900N. In order to hear sound from headphones and the TV speakers at the same time when watching TV or a movie, the source device must have multiple audio outputs. Some TV models can't output sound from both the Bluetooth headphones and the TV speakers at the same time. To output sound from both the headphones/Bluetooth audio device and TV speakers Sound can be output from both headphones or Bluetooth audio device and TV speakers by performing the setting below. However, the setting method varies depending on whether the TV is an A2DP-supported model. A2DP-supported models that can use Bluetooth audio devices have [A/V sync] in [Settings] — [Display & Sound] — [Audio output]. If the TV is not an A2DP-supported model - Press the HOME button, then select [Settings] — [Display & Sound] — [Audio output] — [Headphone speaker link] — [Off] to output sound from both the device connected to the headphone jack (3.5mm) and the TV speakers. Bluetooth audio devices such as Bluetooth headphones cannot be used. If the TV is an A2DP-supported model - Press the HOME button, then select [Settings] — [Display & Sound] — [Audio output] — [Audio to both TV speakers & other device] to enable it and output sound from both the device connected to the headphone jack or Bluetooth headphones, and the TV speakers. Hope this information is helpful. Thanks again for considering Sony! Regards, Jess
