Hello Pat K.! In order to be able to use this unit it will be necessary to use the audio out of your television, some units will automatically give priority to the digital signal a block the analog audio out, it will be necessary to check with television manufacturer to verify if it is possible to use both outputs at the same time to be able to have the headphones and the sound bar working. A way around this could be connecting the headphones directly into the audio out source for example your satellite box, Blu-ray player or game console..~ Jeannette
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Samsung TV & Samsung soundbar. The Sony headphones work fine for me. I can have the soundbar off or muted when using my headphones. I didn't have any connection issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just plug it in and got a great connection. Did not have to do anything special.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can use them with your TV without incident. I have mine set up in my bedroom to allow me to watch TV while my wife sleeps. Even if the sound comes through the sound bar, you can turn the sound all the way down (which is what I do) and still hear through the headphones at whatever volume you set (using the headphones volume control).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't have a soundbar, but the red/white cable hook up is independent of my 55" Samsung TV, in other words, When my wife uses these headset, I still have normal volume control of the TV speakers and there is no muting when she uses her headset. I did test, I can turn the TV volume down all the way and it has no effect on her headset, which has an independent volume control on the head set, so since your soundbar is using the optical digital input, I would assume that it is controlled by the normal volume control of your TV remote, so I would assume yours would work the same.
