Why can't you control volume from TV remote when using them for Karaoke? There are many TV’s have an option in the menu to have the optical output apply volume control from the TV. Second question. Why is there no HDMI Port so I can use my Laptop HDMI Output? You can actually connect your laptop to the speaker if you will use it as a source by connecting it wirelessly via Bluetooth connection. Here are some useful links on how to connect the speaker to the TV and connecting the speaker to your laptop via Bluetooth connections: Connecting the speaker with a TV https://helpguide.sony.net/speaker/srs-xv900/v1/en/contents/TP1000674558.html Pairing and connecting with BLUETOOTH® devices https://helpguide.sony.net/speaker/srs-xv900/v1/en/contents/TP1000674509.html Connecting with a computer via a BLUETOOTH connection (Windows®) https://helpguide.sony.net/speaker/srs-xv900/v1/en/contents/TP1000674512.html Connecting with a computer via a BLUETOOTH connection (Mac) https://helpguide.sony.net/speaker/srs-xv900/v1/en/contents/TP1000674511.html With Omnidirectional party sound, feel the groove in every corner with six tweeters around the front, sides and rear for clarity. The X-Balanced Speaker design for the woofer produces deep, powerful bass, alongside dedicated midrange drivers for vocal clarity, even when you turn up the volume. Six tweeter units in the front, side and top will give clear high-frequency sound all around. With up to 25 hours of battery life the XV900 will keep the party powered all night. I hope this helps and thank you for choosing Sony! Regards, Marco
