Not actually charge it from my experience. It is sometimes able to keep the battery from discharging if you use "Sony's USB cord" and a power supply (corded or battery bank) - from a full battery. I was using the ZV-1 for some continuous behind the scenes video of 7 one hour interviews. The USB power bank worked a couple of times. on the second time it didn't keep the battery charged I went to swapping the battery after each one hour interview. I have a two battery charger and three batteries. The USB power cord to power was just not reliable. That was with the most recent firmware at the time, End of March 2021. The safest route is to us a dummy battery with power supply for continuous power.
