On most modern planes (Airbus types) I can plug in directly. Some of the older planes like older Boeing's might need a two pin adapter, which they sell at airports, for a few bucks.

Yes. That is why I purchased them and was glad I did! Like I previously said, they also fold flat for packing in your carry-on.

There are a couple of different kinds of connectors depending on the airline, and sometimes on the class of service you are flying. Your best bet will be to ask the airline.

I bought these for a friend for her hearing assist device. It has the skinny plug like most ear buds. I can't offer any other information. She said they are very comfortable and adjust nicely to her head.
