It does not have a cd player, but that is ok. Without one is is much lighter. I would suggest that you buy an external blu-ray drive and then you can watch blu-ray movies, dvd movies or listen to CDs. They don't cost that much and work great.

Most convertibles don't have a dvd because they are too thin. I have an external dvd and it works great, You really limit your options with that requirement.

They are becoming more difficult to find and it is likely that even if you find a model now which has one, that your next computer will not. You can use something as small as an External DVD drive which adds a CD/DVD drive to any computer. It has the added benefit of being able to detach from the computer. This means your computer is able to use the extra space for more components or a larger battery!
