• Yes it works with an XR and you don't need the reader... Also you can use in a bad area

• Yes will work on xr. The devise has a system that if the reader is offline because poor connection will save the last transaction and once you have signal again will charge. Also you can collect payments over the phone.

• Yes it will work with any iPhone e without the adapter piece. I've had bad connections and didn't have to use a backup reader.
