“It says the sound for the SteelSeries Arctis 9X is "Stereo"....how does the sound compare to other high end headsets ?? Is there surround sound/emulated surround?? it is ludicrous to pay this much and not getting Dolby Atmos support.”

The Dolby Atmos works with this headset. I use it with mine and it sounds awesome.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It does support both Windows Sonic, which is a free surround sound and is basically the equivalent of Dolby Atmos. The surround sound on this headset is amazing and even though the headset is expensive, it’s well worth the money.

Please try again later.I'm replacing a set of TB Elites with this set (the TB's fell apart after a couple of years of use from stress on the plastic sliders, and I got tired of having to duct tape them to hold them together). I cannot believe how bad TB's "surround" is. It's BAD. Remember, "Surround" is a trademark of Dolby, and you don't get to use it if you don't pay them for the privilege. I thought the 9X's had better sound projection than TB did. I can tell much easier if the footsteps are behind and right vs. behind and left with this headset, but YMMV.

These headphones will require constant repairing so be aware before spending double the money in wireless when wired will give you the same sound without the headaches for half the price
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.All headsets are stereo, they simulate surroundsound via the Xbox or the base station they are connected to. I returned these and bought the Astro A50's, these preform like $40 wired headset, sound is too low and bass is non existent..... Don't wasn't your time or money.
