• You need the adapter for game audio and only works when both connection functions are connected to the same PC, where most programs still don't register it as a valid input or output device. It is a major headache.

• it doesn't use any adapter it works with Bluetooth and the frequency that is used by the xbox so there is no need for any dongle/adapter. Works with any device that has Bluetooth.
