Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes, this unit can be remotely accessed using the Swann Security application for IOS/Android devices. It is not required that you use Google Assistant for this unit to operate. We do not have any monthly subscription fees.

Yes it does work with Apple products. It works on both my wife’s Mac and on our iPhones. 
Google assistant is not required but does work with it. 
There is a subscription service available through Swann, but it is not required.
