So this is the wired version (stated in the description). I have my dvr in the attic and have the hdmi cable down to my 65” tv in the living room.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes, you can connect this directly to a monitor to see activity and playback footage. You can also remotely access this unit with our application for IOS/Android devices. This is a hardwired system.
