- Answer CAT 7 and CAT 8 is fully backwards compatible with CAT 5e/CAT 6 cables and should work just fine. This system comes with low grade ethernet cables that don't even feel like they are proper twisted pair. If I had long enough ethernet cables to replace theirs with, I would absolutely do that and might see some improvement.

- Answer Hello dflink Swann sell a 200ft (60m) ethernet extension cable under model code SWNHD-60MCAT5E, but many professional installers will run their own cabling and then terminate the cable at the exact length that is needed. Using your Cat5e cable would work. Hope this helps. LV - Swann Team
