No, the Nintendo switch doesn't require a TV or monitor. You will have to buy an SD card but that's it. If you don't plan on using the Nintendo Switch on the TV, I suggest you look into the Nintendo Switch Lite which is only a handheld device, can play all the same games, and is about $100 cheaper. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, you don't need a TV to run the system, it has it's own screen. But there's a difference between the Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite version. The Lite version can not connect to TV so it is meant to be solely portable. While the regular Switch is both portable and connects to TV if wanted.
