No, TabloTV uses internet to get extras. You need home network for TabloTV to function, too. It does not plug into TV itself. We achieved the best results by chaining our antenna, TabloTV and a Roku Ultra (powerful CPU) together. Note that there's no TabloTV app for AppleTV or for Samsung or LG Smart TVs and their app on Android TV is badly broken.

If you can't have an outdoor antenna then mounting one in the attic is the next best option. There are various antenna amplifiers available but it won't matter if your antenna is not properly positioned.
