“I am considering purchasing a TCL 49 inch Class LED 4 series , but need to know if my Direct TV remote will work when I have it on the cable source or do you need to use the Roku remote for everything? Thanks”

You need to go to the web site and check. Many remotes do work but not all. I thought I saw Direct TV as a compatible unit. But check the site.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely! When you are on the input that your DirecTV is connected to you will be able to use your DirecTV remote to control the cable box. You can visit https://support.tclusa.com/26534-remote-codes/205958-remote-codes for information on how to program your cable remote to control basic functionality of the TV. Additionally, you can program the TV to power on directly to your cable box. You can do this buy going to Home>Settings>System>Power>Power On>choose which input you would like your TCL Roku TV to power on to. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
