“I find that the TV has tuned itself back on in the middle of the night, after using either the cable box remote OR the provided Roku remote to power it off. Is this a defective Roku remote? It also drains batteries very quickly.”

Mine was getting signals from other components in my home. I re-paired the remote and after that it works just fine!
