No HDMI 2.1 is not supported. But VRR is. When looking for this new set I didn't find any sets with HDMI 2.1. With that said I think the TCL 55R635 is amazing in every way. I am not a competitive gamer so if you are may want amazing monitor not a TV.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No this tv doesn’t support 2.1 , you do have VRR you have to go into the tv settings and turn it on if you want to use it for gaming . There isn’t any tv right now that has VRR that I can think of.. the VRR in the series 6 is JUST ok better than nothing gaming wise.. not sure how VRR helps with anything else like movies, tv or sports.. Dolby Vision needs to be turned on also on the TVs settings. YouTube shows you how it’s easy. Oh! This tv does do 1400p 120 frames per second which is nice!
