• probably but I have mine hooked up to ARC

• When connecting speakers or a soundbar to the TV via Optical, it will not automatically mute the TV speakers. However, you can manually mute the TV speakers in the Audio settings on the TV. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
