• This TCL Roku TV is not the new model that recently launched. The new 6-Series has model numbers ending in R625. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support

• This was a new model that they released in 2019. It has a higher refresh rate and a few more features than their 2018 models. I wondered the same thing when I bought mine.
