“I was wondering, how is the soap opera effect on this tv ? Can it be turned off, adjusted, etc ? I'm really sensitive to movies being too smooth and this would ruin my watching.”

Yes your picture settings can be adjusted to your liking and to your viewing ambiance. Some modes are better for sports, movies, bright settings, dark settings gaming. Also picture settings can be adjusted manually for color, hue, brightness, etc... This set is unbelievable and totally worth every dollar...

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The menu offers the ability to turn off, or dumb down the smoothing options which create the unwanted affect. I choose to disable the options, to illuminate distortion.
