“Is there another option for Audio Out other than the Optical Cable out? Is there a way to hook up external speakers thru a receiver that does not have an optical audio out?”

• Yes...HDMI will send audio back to receiver and there is a headphone style output you could plug 3.5mm to rca out dongle into to get analog output for older receiver.

• Yes. If you utilize the HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) port from your TV with a compatible HDMI cable (providing your receiver's HDMI Output channel is ARC compatible) it works great! I get full DTS and Dolby surround via this method. Good luck!
