I used TVguide.com and chose my area and antenna. This shows all of the channels that I can get

Please try again later.I use Antenna Web free website to check what local stations are supposed to be available within my 60 mile radius (you type in your zip code and it produces a map with station list); I do a channel scan with my TV after hooking up the antenna and if the antenna doesn't capture the majority of the listed stations, I will then check to make sure my antenna can be placed high in my home (2nd floor) near a window (buy extra coax & connectors if the supplied length is too short), utilizing the power boost by plugging in the antenna to an electric outlet with the adapter. If the reception of a majority of expected stations falls short, consider a more powerful antenna or an outdoor antenna. Unfortunately with digital signals, it's hit or miss with placement/orientation of antenna--analog signals you could at least get a fuzzy picture and then adjust for clearer, with digital, you're either spot-on or completely off, so it's a little harder to know for sure you've oriented the antenna correctly.

I'm lucky enough to get all local channels plus many more (23 in all!). All FREE!!! You should check that out before you buy.
