The simple answer is yes. I think what they meant to say was. You can heat up to six items of cookware at the same time on the cooking surface at different temps. :)

I frequently have one pan simmering, one pan frying and one pan stirring at very low temp (especially slow cooking with milk). As long as a magnet will stick to the bottom of the pot/pan, the oven will register the pan and the magnets will heat the pan metal up, cooking the food within.
