I have two of these in my PC and one NZXT one that came with my case, running two of these is about as loud as one of my NZXT ones. So while it's not the most quiet it's still fairly decent and won't generate too much noise.

A:AnswerUnfortunately, this will not replace a CPU fan. It is really more for air movement within your case. I don't believe the RPM is high enough to displace enough air to cool you most CPU's. Plus, you would have to make a custom mount even to get it to work like that. Better off just buying a proper CPU fan. I would recommend this one:
