“If I've found a tile in the parking lot (or anywhere), can I simply press to activate it and will it then notify its' owner of its location? ie. dropped it off with customer service desk at Best Buy, so owner can see location and go pick it up.”

Great question! To update a Tile’s location you have found, you will need to have the Tile app running on your device with Bluetooth and location services enabled. An internet connection will also be needed. Check out this help article for more information: https://bit.ly/3JGGKC8
