I know when it tells me to clean it, I pour out the dirty water out of tank. Then I rinse the tank and make sure to remove any dog hair that may be trapped inside smaller parts of tank. It takes less than two minutes. I also refill the clean water tank at the same time. If I don’t have time to clean it, I don’t place it on the charging station. I have left dirty water for more than a day. Then it still takes just a few minutes to clean. This is so much easier and quicker to clean than my old mop and bucket!

I did my basement hardwood quite a few times which has dog hair and not much to clean in terms of mopping, but we use it to sanitize kind of clean. It wanted to run a clean cycle every other time, which might have been the dog hair honestly. But it will always depend on what you run over and how long the unit was on for. Not something you can control but it is automated (mostly) and needs to be at 20% battery first, and will tell you. However, you should clean the water canisters and the base regularly to keep them both fresh and it cleaned from crud that gets on it. It’s like a car wash, honestly. You still have to put in work.
