Yes. If you choose not to use the Tineco cleaning solution, don't use other cleaners such as Pine-Sol etc. because it creates too many suds in the tank.

The solution bottle is tiny, of course, as they want you to buy more, but you fill up the canister with water and then add in the solution. Without any solution then you’re just mopping up stuff and not cleaning it? I mean, sure, you can mop things up, but you’re not “cleaning” it as in disinfecting anything or getting rid of germs or making the spot not-sticky.
