• It does not have a vacuum only mode. I purchased the Tineco cordless s12 vacuum along with my Tineco s5 mop/vacuum and love them both!

• You can run it over a low pile rug quickly, however it is not meant for rugs. I believe that there is a model that does both, the S5 pro.

• This S5 model does not have vacuum only mode. The S5 Pro does have vacuum only mode.
