No, it will only hold a phone up to 3.5 inches wide. My 8 plus with an Otter box case, just barely fits.

No. Not an ipad or tablet. It can hold a phone but where u attach the phone does not bend so the phone is not straight. It's great as far for the light. I use it for extra light when recording but I have a tripod for my phone.
