I just ordered this TV for my college room as well! I haven't received it yet, but based on my research for the Smart TV, it already includes the fire stick within the TV. Therefore, there is no need purchase an additional fire stick. Once the TV is turned on you will be prompted to enter your netflix/ prime subscription username & passwords. As far as I am aware you do not need to plug it into a cable hookup, it only requires wifi access.
