No the tv will fit box and all
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi - I found some new info: If your FF HB has split-folding seats, you CAN fold the seats completely flat. The rear seat bench (bottom) can be lifted up and flipper forward, and the seatback headrests can be removed, thus allowing the seats to fold flat. The TV box should then fit perfectly upright without any problem. Look in your car's Owner's Manual under "Seating to see the procedure. (In my manual, it's on pg 110-111.) a) Pull up seat bench until it unlatches, then flip forward. b) Depress button on seatback and lower slightly. c) Depress the buttons on BOTH headrest sleeves, and then remove and store the headrest. d) Seatback will fold flat into the well left by the seat bench. You should only need to do this on one side for the TV box. But in a pinch, you could probably fold down both seats and use a small air mattress or other cushion for a short nap. :-)

The sizes of TVs are pretty standard since the size is dependant on the diagonal distance from opposing corners. The feet aren't already installed so you don't have to worry about added height in the box. Bottom line, I think you'll do well. Just put your back seats down.

Upright, the box will get into the hatch, but the seats don't fold completely flat so it won't really go farther when stood upright. Or at least not easily. I instead put it in the backseat, propped against the seatback, but it almost completely block my rear visibility (which is already poor with the small rear window). I then set the bottom on the car floor, so the box is at an angle. Took it on a 5-hour drive with no problems. If you have a Focus hatchback and really wanted to try hard enough you could probably get it in the hatch upright with the rear seat folded down, maybe some downward force to make it more flat to accommodate the box. If you have a sedan, then the way I did it is probably your only option.
