why is there a battery in the hard drive? null

The response was that it does not have a battery. The outside of UPS box has prominent lithium-ion battery cautions. The warranty states that the battery is covered for 3 months vs. 12 months for the drive. Someone thinks there is a battery inside and I did not attempt to open the case to check. If there truly is no battery, then too bad. They are on their way back to Best Buy. I did replace them with a one WD drive.
