This is a travel router, not a hotspot
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is not a hot spot for cell connection. It is a hot spot for WiFi. I have used it while traveling. I would link my TP AC750 to the hotel or AirBNB WiFi and then link my laptop, tablet, and cell phones to the TP AC750. (I was traveling with my wife and we both had multiple devices). This meant that I only had to setup the TP AC750 every time we moved which was every 2 to 5 weeks. Traveled thru South Korea, Taiwan, New Zealand, Turkey. The other devices remained setup to the TP AC750. If you have cell service on a cell phone you can set up the cell phone as a cell hot spot and then link the TP AC750 to the cell phone then all the other devices can work through the cell phone as a cell hot spot. (Although you could do this with just the cell phone) We had thought about using that approach while driving to able to use online maps on a tablet but realized it would use a lot of data. Better approach was to download the maps thru the hotel WiFi and turn on the GPS when moving in the car. Hope this helps.
