Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Kasa came highly recommended to me. I bought mine last month for the same reason, people/door activity. At this point, I only have the Kasa app on my i-phone. I don’t know the answer to your question about a drive attached to the router. I would contact Kasa support (TP-Link.com) about that. I do get message alerts on my i-phone while I’m away. I did have to dial down the sensitivity setting. The slightest noise will send an alert to you, such as a car driving by. Good luck.
