“Does the camera and phone have to be on the same wifi to be able to view on the app? This may sound weird but we have a camera that was working before we left the house and we traveled 200 miles away and all of a sudden we could not view on the app.??”

Not as long as camera is online. I viewed mine from 1200 miles away.
