One for your router or WiFi unit and the other to plug into the wall for your PC, TV, Xbox or whatever device you are trying to connect to the Internet. For each device that is having trouble getting WiFi signal, you will need to purchase additional plugs. You can even buy this same kit since it has 2 if you need 2 more. All of these plugs do exactly the same thing. So there is no special plug that is made specifically for the router or WiFi unit.
