If this is the only true function you need it for, yes this phone does the basics of smart phone. However keep in mind it’s not an advanced smart phone. The picture quality is not that great and it’s not as high functioning as other phones. Nonetheless, it’s good for basic apps usage such as Facebook and Instagram, phone call and text.

This phone is compact, so a person with vision problems might benefit from a larger smart phone with bigger screen. I haven't attempted to watch any videos on it.
