The mic is pretty light, it is heavier then the right side but if you curl it down near your mouth it will sit comfortably .

The mic is a detachable boom if you just wanted to listen, I just leave it on since I only use it for gaming controller. It has a mute switch to turn on or off. It also comes with different sizes rubber ear attachments, if you have the right size that fits comfortably and sits sturdy on you ear: you shouldn't have a problem. Hope that helps.
