Yes. It does a great job minimizing outside sounds while keeping the sounds it makes contained. The mic will pick up everything around you though, be aware. A Whiney pup? Yup. Dishes clanging? Yup.

No it does not. But the comfortable fit can eliminate some surrounding sound.
