Thanks for your inquiry, Ralph! The Stealth 700 Gen 3 for Xbox pairs with the Xbox console using the included wireless USB transmitter, it does not pair to the controller in any way. The Bluetooth connection on the headset is designed to connect with Smartphones and Tablets. Best Regards!

The 700 headset for xbox comes with a dongle for xbox and a dongle for PC. it doesn't have anything to do with the controllers anymore. Microsoft xbox controllers use a proprietary wireless signal for the xbox but have bluetooth capability to interface with a pc. If you have wired headphones, they piggy back off of the controller's connection, but wireless headphones are independent of the controller.

Your controller dosnt matter its not a wired headset you dont plug it into your controller. But if its the original xbox x controller it should be bluetooth but that has nothing to do with it.
