Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I live in Wisconsin where winter is -10 and summer extremely humid. I'm not sure what is recommended but Mine are out all year with no problems. For a flag or any of the patterns that 'move' you would need to map the lights more condensed. The more lights the better the pattern.
