My wife's I-8 charges just fine. Make sure the phone is face up and centered on the pad.

Yes.check the placement of the phone on the pad. Sometimes you have to have it sitting “just right”

iPhone 8 or 8 plus are different sizes. No you need mophie for iPhone 8

It’s wireless charging. You will need to use the cord and plug the phone in.
